Bee Campus
UNM-Taos seeks to advance education and conservation opportunities for not only honey bees but for a wide range of native pollinators. The Taos chapter of Native Plants of New Mexico will work to help UNM-Taos create a native plant garden to feed pollinators of all kinds.
UNM-Taos is excited about creating opportunities for student research and service learning. Faculty, staff, and students work together to study and create pollinator habitats with native plants. In spring 2024, the campus added 32 new plants near the apiary donated by High Country Gardens.

The UNM-Taos Integrated Pest Management (IPM) policy was created to provide a safe and ecological guideline to protect the environment and the unintended casualties of plants, animals and insects. The goal is to provide guidelines on ways we can be more conscientious in our practices to provide a better environment for everyone.
