Taos author, UNM-Taos faculty member search for meaning behind sustainable living

Five years ago, Taos High School English teacher and author Jim Kristofic set out across the Southwest on a quest to find sustainable building techniques and learn the philosophies of its gurus. What came from Kristofic’s experience is his latest book, House Gods: Sustainable Buildings and Renegade Builders. A contributor to House Gods is UNM-Taos Construction Technology Coordinator Mark Goldman, who is one of the builders/architects interviewed for a chapter.

New UNM-Taos HIVE Digital Training Program Graduates First Class

Via in-person and virtually on April 11 at the HIVE (Hub of Internet-based Vocation and Education) on Gusdorf Road in Taos, Microsoft & LinkedIn Learning Internship program graduates met with representatives from three local organizations to get to know each other. This is the first program offered at the HIVE that transitions into a paid internship, with the possibility of full-time employment down the road.

Stephen Archuleta kept searching for a way up and out of his financial quagmire. Plus, he wanted a job he actually liked. Then he read an article about the CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) certificate program at UNM-Taos. The decision to get a CDL changed his life.
