OAA oversees University curriculum and new curricular initiatives; faculty hiring, retention, and promotion; academic student support initiatives (such as tutoring, testing, and the library), academic advisement, faculty teaching and learning; and the administration of all academic departments, programs, and staff within Academic Affairs. The Dean serves as the Chief Academic Officer of the branch campus

The UNM-Taos Office of Academic Affairs welcomes you to our website. Roberta Vigil and I are available to help you navigate through the Department: courses, programs and faculty. Our contact information is listed below.

The Office of Academic Affairs is organized into six areas:

  • Mathematics and Science
  • Social & Behavioral Sciences
  • Humanities
  • Art and Design (Fine Art and Digital Media Art)
  • Health Sciences
  • Professional Skills and Community Engagement

Each one of the above areas is served by Department Chairs who are responsible for the academic and professional skills pathways. They are listed below with their contact information.

We are fortunate at UNM-Taos to have a highly qualified faculty that value teaching and individual student success. Our average class size is 15 students and our faculty loves teaching. At UNM-Taos, a student can receive an outstanding education in over 30 different degree and certificate pathways.
