Placement Testing
Placement testing at UNM-Taos ensures that you enroll in the courses that match your current skill level, helping you succeed academically from the start. Our placement tests are designed to assess your abilities in key subject areas, such as math and English, so you can begin your studies in the appropriate courses.
Placement tests are essential because they help:
- Determine the most suitable courses for your current skill level
- Identify areas where you may need additional support or resources
- Ensure a smooth transition into college-level coursework
- Maximize your chances of academic success
Students seeking to take math and/or English placement tests must book an appointment with our Testing Center. Placement testing is completed in person on Klauer Campus.
Students should only take placement tests after they have met with an Admissions Officer.
