Tutoring
The Center for Academic Success & Achievement offers both in-person and online tutoring in an array of subjects supported by CRLA Level 1-trained tutors and instructors. Tutoring is free of cost and available to all UNM-Taos students.
We value individual learning differences and provides academic support through small-group or one-on-one tutoring sessions, including:
- review of class material
- discussion of the text
- prediction of test questions
- creation of study aids
- development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- and more, customized to your needs and goals
The STEM Learning Center (SLC)
We have peer tutors and instructors of mathematics and science to support you in your learning. Our lab is designed to support courses that are ALEKS, xyz homework, or lecture based. We encourage students to work in groups and independently. Tutoring sessions are drop-in only and occur in-person and online.

Writing Studio
Our Writing Studio can assist you with any writing assignment for any class. In addition, we can assist you with resumes, scholarship applications, and other writing projects. You can drop in or make an appointment, though appointments are preferred.

To submit your writing via email, please attach your draft, your questions, the assignment prompt, and any other instructions. Please allow 24-48 hours for feedback, though longer if sent over the weekend or over a holiday.

Need assistance with Chemistry, Math, or something else? We offer third-party online tutoring through NetTutor that is available 24/7 in all general studies content areas. You will be able to receive live tutoring and interact with tutors. This service offers you the opportunity to ask questions and work on content anywhere at any time.

Semester-by-semester, CASA coordinates with academic departments to provide tutoring for specific programs. Although these offerings change from semester-to-semester based on need, other tutoring subjects often include:
