Honor Society

The Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor society recognizes students who attain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher in the classroom. UNM-Taos students may receive an invitation to join our Phi Theta Kappa chapter in the fall and spring semesters based on grades posted for the previous semester.

Phi Theta Kappa members can apply for scholarships and take advantage of online academic and professional resources.

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society is widely considered one of the nation’s most prestigious academic honor societies. Founded in 1918 at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, and recognized in 1929 as the official honor society for two-year colleges by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), PTK has a long-standing tradition of helping students grow as scholars and leaders.
