How to Apply
Complete the FAFSA
To be considered for Student Employment, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Check Your Eligibility
After submitting your FAFSA, review your financial aid offer to see if you are eligible for Work Study. Eligibility is based on financial need as determined by your FAFSA information. Visit the Financial Aid Office for assistance.
Search for Positions
Visit the Employment page to browse available positions. Filter by department, job type, and location to find opportunities that match your interests and schedule.
Apply for Positions
Submit your application for the Student Employment positions that interest you. This typically includes a resume and a cover letter. Some positions may require additional materials or an interview.
Accept a Job Offer
Once you receive a job offer, review the terms and conditions of the employment. Accept the offer by following the instructions provided by the hiring department.
Complete Employment Paperwork

What is Student Employment?
Student Employment is a federal- and state-funded program that provides part-time jobs for students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay for educational expenses.
How many hours can I work per week?
Student Employment students typically work 28 hours maximum per week, depending on their class schedule and the needs of the employer.
How much will I be paid?
Student Employment positions pay at least the state minimum wage, but some positions may offer higher wages depending on the job duties and required skills.
Can I have more than one Student Employment job?
You can hold multiple Student Employment positions as long as the total hours worked do not exceed the maximum allowed per week (typically 28 hours).
What if I don't use all of my Student Employment award?
Any unused portion of your Student Employment award cannot be carried over to the next academic year. It’s important to monitor your hours and earnings to make the most of your award.
