Chinese Temple In 2002 UNM Taos welcomed to their already diverse offerings a progressive curriculum of Chinese arts and culture explorations. Among classes offered are: Chinese language, Chinese brush calligraphy as art and meditation, Qi Gong, Tai Ji and other traditional holistic healing practices. This ever expanding program of cross-cultural learning is the seed that has resulted in the formation of the UNM Taos Chinese Culture Club. In the 2004 fall semester, the club was formally established with many members and support from faculty and community.

In spring of 2005 club members and other UNM Taos students went on their historical first journey to China for a memorable two week study tour. Currently a multi-cultural study program is being developed at UNM Taos with faculty member Pearl Huang as coordinator to facilitate future study tours for an inter-disciplinary curriculum.

The Club welcomes UNM students of all ethnic backgrounds to participate in workshops and activities and to help create an environment for the study of east/west synthesis. UNM Taos Chinese Culture Club is a forum to share our unique global wisdom, perspectives, insights, and creativity within the context of exploring the rich cultural resources that China and Asia has to offer. Currently UNM Taos Chinese Culture club members are of many diverse ethnic backgrounds and are eager to share their experience with new members.
