Several scholarships are available to UNM-Taos students who meet the requirements. The requirements vary by type of scholarship and are also subject to change. To be sure about the requirements for any scholarship, contact the Financial Aid Advisor prior to applying.
The New Mexico State
Lottery Scholarship
Tuition scholarship for New Mexico high school graduates attending New
Mexico public post-secondary institution of higher education. Created
by the New Mexico Legislature and funded from Lottery revenues-intended
to make higher education more accessible to New Mexico high school students.
WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS?
In order to qualify for the New Mexico State Lottery Scholarship, you
must:
- be NM high school graduate (public or accredited private school or
NM GED)-Spring 1996 or later,
- be NM resident (as defined for tuition purposes) and U.S. citizen (or
permanent resident alien),
- have had full-time attendance (Fall/Spring) at a NM public post-secondary
institution of higher education following graduation,
- maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and be enrolled full-time each semester (12
hours), excluding summer.
WHEN DOES IT START? WHEN DOES IT END?
- For Spring high school graduates-starts in Spring the following
year
- Available for up to 8 consecutive semesters or until student graduates,
which ever comes first
- Only 4 semesters may be used at a two year institution.
WHAT IS THE AMOUNT OF THE SCHOLARSHIP?
The scholarship covers class tuition (not including fees).
HOW TO APPLY?
There is no need to apply - if the student is eligible according to UNM-Taos
records, the Lottery Success Scholarship award will be automatic.

The Bridge to Success Scholarship
WHAT IS IT?
An award funded by the University of New Mexico-Taos for the first semester "bridge to" the New Mexico Lottery scholarship which does not become effective until the qualified student's second semester.
WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS?
In order to qualify for the Bridge to Success Scholarship, you must:
- be a Spring New Mexico high school graduate (public or accredited private high school) or GED recipient,
- have a high school GPA of at least a 2.5 or GED 530,
- be a New Mexico resident,
- submit a complete admissions application to UNM-Taos,
- be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien,
- be enrolled in a degree granting program with at least 12 credit hours at UNM-Taos.
WHEN DOES IT START? WHEN DOES IT END?
This scholarship has a one semester duration and is awarded for the Fall semester following the student's Spring high school graduation or GED award.
HOW TO APPLY?
There is no need to apply. The Bridge to Success Scholarship will be automatically awarded to qualified students according to the University of New Mexico-Taos records.

The $1,500 NAAMLP Scholarship is intended to assist in the education of students who intend to work as scientists or technicians in the field of mine land reclamation. Letters of application for this scholarship must be received by May 30, 2010.
