How To Forward Your UNM EMail

You can forward email from your NetID account to another email account (e.g., Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.) so that you can read UNM email from another email account.

1. Go to webmail.unm.edu and log in.

2. Click the Rules button at the top tool bar. The Rules window will appear.

3 At the Mail Forwarding section, click to check the box for Enable Forward.

4. In the text field (just below) type one or more email addresses to forward your incoming email to. If you are entering multiple addresses, separate each with a comma, e.g., plynth@gte.net, xyz@yahoo.com.

5. The following settings are optional:

Message Archive - To keep a copy of the email message in your UNM INBOX, click to check the box for Keep a Copy.
Preserve Header information - Forwarding changes email header information. To preserve the original To and Cc fields, click to check the box for Preserve To/Cc Fields.
Automatic Messages - The mail system can detect email from mailing lists, vacation agent replies, etc., and can prevent these messages from being forwarded. Click to check the box for Do Not Redirect Automatic Messages. Leave this box unchecked to forward ALL email.
5. Click the Submit button (green square with white check mark near the top of the window) to activate your changes.

6. To disable email forwarding, log in, go to the Rules window and uncheck Enable Forward. Click the Submit button.
