UNM-Taos, a Yoga Alliance-approved Yoga Training School, offers a 200+hour Yoga teacher training certification program for those who wish to deepen their knowledge of the ancient discipline and become a certified yoga instructor.
The courses are offered through the Holistic and Healing Arts Program at UNM-Taos. Our comprehensive program offers an introduction to Yoga fundamentals such as the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Yoga Therapy, Myofascial Yoga, Chanting, and Ayurvedic philosophy, presented in weekend intensives and 16-week course formats, which can be taken at the student’s desired pace over the course of one to two years. This allows for sufficient time for reflection and integration of course material.
Because the 200 hour yoga teacher program is being offered through an institution of higher learning, we are able to present this training in a flexible, low cost, yet high-contact hours format to both in- and out-of-state students. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enrich one’s yogic studies in a beautiful southwestern vacation spot: Taos, New Mexico.
All of our courses are taught in the Movement Lab at Rio Grande Hall, 121 Civic Plaza Drive in the center of Taos. Outline of the courses is under the course requirement page at http://taos.unm.edu/academics/integrative-health/yoga-program/yoga-course-requirements.html and cost is dependent on how many credits you choose to enroll in. Tuition is at http://taos.unm.edu/student-enrollment/tuition.html.
