UNM-Taos offers a 200-hour yoga teacher training program approved by the Yoga Alliance for those who wish to become certified yoga instructors as well as those who may not wish teach but would like to deepen their knowledge of yoga. The yoga teacher training can be undertaken on its own or go toward the 30 credits needed to achieve Health and Healing Arts Certificate.

Our approach fuses studies of the ancient philosophy with current research-based approaches to movement and alignment so that our graduates will be able to lead transformative classes that are also accessible and safe.

Our required courses are presented in semester-long formats, which can be taken at the student’s desired pace, allowing sufficient time for reflection and integration of course material.

Because the 200-hour yoga teacher program is being offered through an institution of higher learning, we are able to offer a flexible, low cost format high in contact hours. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enrich one’s yogic studies in a beautiful southwestern vacation spot: Taos, New Mexico.

All of our courses are taught in the Movement Lab at Rio Grande Hall, 121 Civic Plaza Drive in the center of Taos. Tuition is at http://taos.unm.edu/student-enrollment/tuition.html.
