Since 2007, UNM-Taos has been offering an Integrative Massage Therapy Program with an emphasis in medical massage. This holistic program is designed for students aspiring to become licensed massage therapists in the State of New Mexico.

The program’s mission is to impart the knowledge and experience that will prepare graduates to sit for the state licensure exam required for entry-level employment in massage therapy. The Integrative Massage Therapy faculty are dedicated to guiding students through the licensure process and to aiding them in obtaining employment.

We have a basic program of 650 hours and an advanced certificate of 1000 hours. The 650-hour Certificate in Integrative Massage Therapy meets the minimum requirements necessary for the licensure exam. The 1000-hour program combines the 650-hour program with classes in other healing modalities so that students can earn a Certificate in Holistic Health and Healing Arts. It is often possible for students to complete these programs in one academic year, though students may take our courses at their own pace.

Formal application and acceptance into the program is required before enrolling in class with a MAS prefix.
