Testing Center at CASA

Our Testing Center is located in Pueblo Hall East on Klauer Campus. Our hours are from 8 am to 3:30 pm and by appointment. A current photo ID is required for all tests. All High School Equivalency testing is by appointment only and is typically done between 8 am and 3 pm. Please call with questions and to schedule an appointment at 575-737-3695, or email us at taostestingcenter@unm.edu.

We provide Accuplacer Placement Testing, GED testing, HiSet testing, special accommodations testing, testing for coursework, and other high stakes tests.

Placement Testing:

Accuplacer Testing: This test will determine which math, reading, and writing courses will begin your educational journey. Click below for a study guide so that you will know what the test covers. This test is offered from 10 am to 3 pm.

This guide will give you an idea of how the Accuplacer scores determine which class that you are most prepared to begin your studies in Mathematics. Note that you should work with your academic advisor to determine the class most appropriate for your course of studies once you have completed testing.

High School Equivalency Testing:

We are a Pearson VUE Computer Based Testing Center. Pearson VUE is a leading provider of high-stakes exams for a wide variety of industries. Please visit Pearson VUE for additional information.

This is a two day testing process. Sign up for these tests at either HiSet or Pearson. We have testing once a month. Please arrive promptly for your testing appointment. Please call us with questions.

HiSET Testing: Scheduling a HiSET® exam is an important first step toward achieving your high school equivalency credential, and we want to make sure that you have the tools you need to prepare. The HiSET program offers free and low-cost options to familiarize you with both the exam questions and the computer-delivered testing experience.

You may obtain a copy of your HSE Diploma at Diploma Sender.

To sign up for your test you will need to:

  • Create a profile at HiSET, or GED, and pay for your scheduled exams.
  • If you are under 18, then you will need to complete the Under Age Permission Form, and have it signed by your school district, parent or guardian, and submit it to our Testing Center for approval.
  • A current, and valid, government issued photo ID

Proctored Exams:

Please come to our testing center for all proctored exams. Or if you are an instructor who would like for us to proctor an exam for you please stop by and we will set up an exam for your students.

Things to Remember When Testing:

  • Bring proper identification as per testing requirements.
  • Expect to lock all belongings and jackets in a locker.
  • Understand the time frame your test will take and plan your day accordingly.
