Art Department will have a new Chair
Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students:
I am grateful to the Department of Instruction for the opportunity to lead the UNM-Taos Art Department over the 2015-16 school year. It has been a tremendous learning experience, but I found the demands of the job have eaten away at my studio time as an artist. As such, I’ve decided to step down as Chair, at the end of this semester, to focus on my busy art and writing careers. Thankfully, the Department of Instruction and I believe Sarah Stolar is the perfect person to replace me, and we look forward to helping her accomplish her goals as Department Chair in 2016-17.
With much regard,
Art Department Chair, UNM Taos
UNM Taos’ Department of Instruction welcomes Sarah Stolar as 2016-2017 Art Department Chair:
“The UNM-Taos Art Department is unique because it combines degree-seeking students with a dedicated adult studio program. I have been teaching at the art school college level for 15 years, seven of which were working with the Adult Public Programs department at the San Francisco Art Institute. I am hoping that my experience with diverse types of students will foster an inclusive environment where everyone’s creative voices are supported. I am graciously accepting the role of Chair and look forward to contributing to this deeply rooted community.”
