The Associate of Art Degree in Communication & Journalism is a degree program designed for students who wish to have marketable skills for the job market in a variety of areas-advertising, public relations, print or broadcast journalism, organizational communication, and others. The program is designed so that the student can earn a Minor in Communication as well as the AA in Communication and Journalism, it will also provide the basis for a major in Communication or Journalism and Mass Communication in a B.A. program.

Writing & Speaking 6 Credit Hours
ENGL 101- Composition I  
ENGL 102- Composition II  
   
  Mathematics 3 Credit Hours
  One (1) course MATH 121 College Algebra or above  
     
Physical and Natural Sciences 8 Credit Hours
Two (2) of the following:
BIO 110/112L Biology Non-Majors OR BIO 123/124L Biology Health Sci Majors  
E&PS 101/105L- Physical Geology  
   
Social and Behavioral Sciences 9 Credit Hours
Three (3) courses from the following:  
ECON 105- Intro to Macroeconomics
