UNM-Taos is excited to present it's seventh year of Integrative Massage Therapy Program (IMTP) designed for students seeking an opportunity to become a licensed massage therapist in the State of New Mexico. The program’s mission is to offer an integrative and holistic approach to massage therapy while gaining a strong basic knowledge and experience so that upon graduation and successful completion of the program you can obtain your license to practice massage therapy. We are offering a basic program of 650 hours and an advance certificate of 1000 hours. UNM-Taos is dedicated to guiding you through process so you will be prepared to successfully take one of the national exams and aid in obtaining employment as a massage therapist.
The 650 Certificate in Integrative Massage Therapy is designed for individuals who would like to sit for the state licensure exam, which is required for entry-level employment in massage therapy. The 650 hour program meets the minimum requirements to sit for the licensure exam. Formal application and acceptance into the program is required before enrolling in class with a MAS prefix.
The 1000 program combines the 650 program with the requirements for a Certificate in Holistic Health and Healing Arts in order to complete the requirements.
If you are prepared to commit to enrolling earlier and part time you can interview in April, July or November for the following semester.
