Summer Puente Program

The Puente Program is designed to provide high school juniors and graduating seniors the opportunity to succeed in college, career, and life.

Our primary objective is to increase the number of area high school students attending post-secondary education and assist high school students in making a successful transition to college.

UNM-Taos College and Career Prep/Summer Puente Program works with six surrounding rural school districts and alternative schools:

(Taos, Questa, Peñasco, and Mesa Vista High School Districts)

 And

 (Chrysalis and Vista Grande)

Program activities include:

• 3 college courses taught by UNM-Taos faculty

• Career exploration

• Team Building activities such as a ropes course

• Academic advising

• Help with admissions applications and financial aid information

• On-site ACT/Compass Placement Testing for English and Math

• Campus Visits
